Vajra Workshops ~ Healing with Shamanic Journeying with Amanda Moreno @ The Vajra on 10th
Dec 3 @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Vajra Workshops presents Healing with Shamanic Journeying

Journeying is a method of inner consultation that can be a helpful tool for self-empowerment. Referred to by some as the “first spiritual practice of humanity,” shamanic journeying uses drumming or rattling to induce an altered state of consciousness. This class will focus on journeying for personal healing and insight.

Well talk briefly about the history of the practice, some general conceptions of the “other worlds,”  and the importance of imagination as a vital way of knowing. We will then engage in several journeys to the lower and upper worlds where participants can learn about their own guides, helpers and allies. The class will include partner work for power animal retrieval.

Participants will be asked to lie on the floor — please bring a mat and pillow to make yourself comfortable. We will provide blankets, mats and props that you are welcome to use. All levels of experience welcome.

No late entry.

About the presenter: Amanda is a shamanic practitioner with a penchant for making powerful tools of healing and growth available to any who want to learn them. More information can be found at www.aquarianspirals.com

The Fierce Heart: From Despair to Action @ The Vajra on Tenth
Dec 16 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Vajra Workshops presents ~ The Fierce Heart: From Despair to Action

Honoring the heart and remaining compassionate can be difficult when living in a world that can seem so full of chaos and contradiction. Come sit with community as we discuss the times were living in and how we can understand compassion as a fire within us tempered by the coolness of wisdom and insight. We’ll experience exercises that will help  cultivate gratitude, express and learn how to deal with our grief/overwhelm/anger/numbness for what is happening in the world, turning it into constructive action, and explore ways to listen to the wisdom of the heart even as we grapple with what it means to live during a time of paradox and massive change at the personal and collective levels. Participants can expect to explore personal and collective issues within community and will leave with concrete action steps.

This workshop will borrow heavily from the teachings of Joanna Macy and The Work That Reconnects, which uses deep ecology, Buddhism, systems theory and spiritual thought from around the world in order to build motivation, creativity, courage and solidarity for the transition to a sustainable human civilization.

About the presenter: Amanda Moreno is an astrologer, soul worker and paradigm buster who believes that by doing the deep work of transforming consciousness, we are better able to navigate the challenges of our times. More information can be found at www.aquarianspirals.com

Rebel Saints Meditation Society ~ Cultivating Eyes of Dhamma with Rachel M Fiala @ The Vajra on Tenth
Jan 8 @ 10:30 am – 12:00 pm

Cultivating Eyes of Dhamma

2nd & 4th Sundays w. Rachel MF

10:30am-12:00pm

Buddhist meditation practice asks that we close our eyes to the outside world and enter the realm of internal experience. Here we learn to relax into and observe our moment-to-moment experience in the form of thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations. But what does this inner seeing actually do? How to we engage what we experience? And how does this process lead to the cultivation of kindness, wisdom, and compassion?

These Sunday sits will explore our capacity to engage the basic tenets of Buddhist dharma through our own meditation practice. Our time together will consist of short dharma talks, guided meditations, and group discussion. Books and online materials will be referenced to support your own study and practice.

(Rebel Saints sits every Sunday and alternates leaders)

Please feel free to reach out to Rachel with any questions: hello@rachelmf.com.
