This hand-knotted 108-bead mala is strung from genuine Dalmatian Jasper — a cream and beige stone speckled with deep black inclusions, earthy and striking in equal measure. It is finished with a vibrant rainbow tassel, its spectrum of color offering a vivid contrast to the muted, spotted tones of the jasper beads.
The mala as a counting tool has been used across Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain traditions for thousands of years. The 108-bead count holds significance across these lineages — used to complete a full round of japa (mantra repetition), with each knot between beads allowing the practitioner to move mindfully from one repetition to the next. Worn as a necklace or at the wrist between practice sessions, the mala serves as a quiet reminder of one’s intention.
